Playground Mafia will be playing their farewell gig (headlining Plug main stage) on friday 16th December. After much soul searching main man Matt has decided he needs to begin his career (especially after he graduated with an Accountancy Degree at Sheffield Uni this year), and unfortunately this means he wouldn't be able to give the band his full commitment, so he's decided to called time on PGM after 3 wonderful years.
Playground Mafia was formed by Matt Bruce in 2008, when he left indie high flyers The Speakeasy to concentrate on his first love, dance music, the 3 year PGM journey has seen a few members come and go as musical direction changed. Initially consisting of younger sibling, guitarist Andy and then bassist Nick Grant, before Michael Rafferty replaced Nick. Then the guitars went as the current line up evolved with wonderful vocalist Elisha Jay joining them, then adding the urban twist through machine gun rapper Blakstar before final member, model and backing singer the lovely Alice Turton joined the team.
Highs have been numerous and included :-
Getting national airplay before their debut gig and subsequently two BBC Introducing sessions.
Playing to 8,000 on the Hallam FM stage at Tramlines 10 with The Wanted among others.
Playing 2 great sold out 2,500 capacity clubnights at Proud Gallery Camden, this year.

Releasing debut Lets Get On Down, ( produced at 2Fly by the excellent Dave Sanderson) via White Label Music, then working with the creative genius David Gledhill for the last year or so.
